Moving straight on to his lovefest with Brenda is a pretty crappy way to show gratitude. Teresa had always been there for him and had always wanted what was best for him, even though he didn't realize it, and this eventually cost her her life. Because of Thomas's unforgiving, Teresa dies in vain trying to prove herself back to him, which to me makes her death absolutely heartbreaking, in particular because he is all too happy to run off into the sunset with Brenda (who, by the way, has also lied to him as a part of an assignment by WICKED) and does not seem to mourn her past those first few moments in the paradise. Through this rashness, Thomas has not only torn Teresa to pieces but he, not Teresa, has ruined whatever they could have been. Oh wait, except for the small detail that again, he didn't actually die, and because of that she never actually broke his trust. He forgives Aris (?!) but seems unable to forgive Teresa for breaking his trust and leading him to his death. But aparently this isn't so easy for Thomas. Shouldn't this glaring fact combined with the unrelenting apoligetics from Teresa (and Aris) be enough for him to realize that it was an act? And once he realizes it was an act (which I think he does) one would think that the jump to the conclusion that they truly did think they had no choice, and then forgiveness, would be easy considering the kind of person he knew Teresa to be. But I do not see how Teresa and Aris could've made it any more obvious afterwards that it was an act, particularly becuse HE DIDN'T ACTUALLY DIE. I get how devastating it would be to go through the "betrayal", I really do. The most frustrating part of this situation to me is how Thomas handles it, and is the reason behing why I don't even really like him as a character very much anymore. I believe that because of this Teresa is the best friend Thomas could ever ask for. To her belief they had already tried to kill him once (by controlling Gally, she didn't know that they had controlled Chuck as well to step in front of Thomas) so why would it seem out of line that they would do it again? All of Teresa's actions, from the "betrayal" to sacrificing herself for him twice were geared towards making sure Thomas was safe even if it meant she had to sacrifice her reputation and relationship with her best friend. In retrospect I think it's obvious that WICKED wouldn't have killed Thomas as they already had considered him to be the likely Final Canidate, but I don't see how Teresa could have seen that as everyone had already seen what horrible and inhumane lengths WICKED was willing to go to in order to get their cure. I felt like Teresa only did what she did to Thomas not only because she thought it was necesary to save the human race (I'm assuming the feeling of complete betrayal was one of the brainwave patterns WICKED thought they needed to complete the blueprint and thus the cure), but also to save Thomas himself. Teresa was my favorite character in the series. I don't know about you guys, but I was completely devastated by the ending of The Death Cure.
